New plans have been introduced by the Youth Justice Board to manage thebehaviour of some of the most challenging and troubled young people heldin secure establishments. The code of practice outlines strategies thatemphasise expectation of positive behaviour within an environment ofmutual respect.

Draft regulations on maternity and adoption leave and flexibleworking

The Government is publishing in draft its proposals to amend maternityand adoption leave regulations and flexible working regulations.Consultation on proposals runs until 18 April.

Facts and figures on ... suicide among young people

In England and Wales in 2004, 373 young men aged 14 to 25 died fromintentional self-harm and injury of undetermined intent. Thecorresponding figure for young women is 128.
