NCB Now: DfES strengthens its partner relationships

The Department for Education and Skills is offering more voluntary sector organisations, including NCB members, the chance to join its children's services immersion scheme.

The scheme involves department officials spending up to three days with a partner organisation, meeting key contacts, shadowing front line workers and learning about the issues and challenges the organisation faces.

"The programme set out in Every Child Matters: Change for Children requires us to have a broader knowledge and understanding of our partners in the children's sector," said a department spokesperson. "We hope this will help us to achieve this." The department is particularly keen to hear from organisations around Greater London and the Sheffield and Darlington areas.
