The project will gather case studies and examples of good practice from practitioners, as well as consulting with children and young people. Areas to be addressed by the project include after-school and lunchtime clubs, links with the Healthy Schools scheme, and work on promoting self-esteem, empowerment and participation.
Vanessa Cooper, PSHE and citizenship adviser to NCB, said: "Although much has happened over the past few years to raise the status of PSHE and citizenship, little attention has been given to the role of Connexions advisers and other school-based support workers in delivering a co-ordinated approach to the pastoral curriculum. This is something we aim to address through the project."
