NCB Now: Conference tackles behavioural issues

1 min read
The complexity of factors affecting children's behaviour will be revealed at the Nottingham Early Years Conference, hosted by NES Arnold, NCB's Early Childhood Unit and the Council for Awards in Children's Care and Education (CACHE), on 8-9 July.

Keynote speaker Dr Carole Sutton from the Unit for Parenting Studies, De Montfort University, will speak about the effect that factors such as a child's community, parents and personal experiences can have on their behaviour.

Smoking in pregnancy and socio-economic stress are among the risk factors identified. These findings come from a report by Sutton, in association with NCB, looking at how to work with young children and their families to reduce the risks of antisocial behaviour.

The conference, which takes place at East Midlands Conference Centre, is aimed at a range of delegates involved with early years practice, professional development and policy.
