The Communicating with Children project was developed in response toresearch evidence showing that despite the successes of implementing theFramework for Assessment of Children in Need and their Families, practitioners still lacked the skills and the confidence to effectivelycommunicate with children during assessments.
The project looked at improving assessment in child care practice byworking with social work managers, trainers and senior practitioners toassist them in developing a learning programme for staff in their ownagencies.
