1 min read
With resourcing set to end for the Children's Fund, how can we ensure learning from this huge Government initiative is not lost?

The Government and those in the children's sector have been advisingchildren's trusts to increase the participation of children and youngpeople in the development of children and young people's plans. Theseplans should then set the expected level of children's involvement inthe decision-making process for all areas and levels within thetrusts.

Actively involving children and young people in decision-making,planning, delivery and evaluation has been, and will always be,considered good practice in the world of participation. Children'strusts can learn much from the Children's Fund commissioning model, where participation is placed at the core of its structure.
