NCB Now: Participation is key to equality

1 min read
How can we ensure equality and inclusion for all young children? This will be the question debated by delegates attending an early years conference on 1 November in Manchester.

The first in a series of regional events organised by NCB, Participationand Belonging will provide an opportunity for professionals to sharestrategies and reflect on practice.

The conference will use the Early Childhood Forum's definition ofinclusion as "a process of identifying, understanding and breaking downbarriers to participation and belonging" as a starting point fordiscussion.

Organisations including the Pre-School Learning Alliance, NationalChildminding Association and Persona Dolls Training will exhibitresources to help professionals engage with children.

NCB is also involved in the annual Participation Workers Network forEngland (PWNE) conference, which takes place on 11 October inLondon.

The charity is a member of the network's steering group and will helprun a "participation doctor" stand where delegates can get advice oninvolving children in their work.
