The regional programme has focused on improving health and wellbeingoutcomes by spreading good practice, developing links with looked-afterchildren's nurses and considering the role of foster carers.
The Healthy Care audit has been a useful launch pad to focus local areason the key changes required across services to improve the health oflooked-after children and young people. These have included issues asdiverse as sexual health education and involvement of looked-afterchildren in the recruitment of staff.
The Healthy Care Regional Steering Group meets termly and has been auseful mechanism to disseminate the good practice across the region andto motivate key staff to continue with the work.
