It will be ok, funded by BBC Children in Need, aims to provide support to bereaved young people by emphasising that they are not alone and that others may share their feelings.
In the video the young people, who attend childhood bereavement services across the country, talk openly about the things that have helped them.
"I think that people should open up and talk to someone," comments one girl. "Whether it's a friend or family or a support, I find that talking does help."
Another member of the group goes on to say: "The thing is not to give up and just keep going and it will be okay."
"One of the key messages that those involved in the project wanted to get across is the importance of talking," said Alison Penny, CBN development officer. "Hopefully when used in a supportive environment the video will encourage other young people to share their experiences and realise that their emotions are normal."
It will be ok is the third in a series of videos available from the CBN, which address the needs and experiences of bereaved children and young people.
- The video is available from the CBN priced 17.50 (15 for NCB/CBN members) plus p&p. Call the network on 020 7843 6309 or email cbn@ncb.org.uk.
