With some schools teaching pupils from over 20 different countries, NI is becoming increasingly diverse.
Dr Stephanie Mitchell, who leads on the emerging research from NCB NI, said: "There are no exact figures for the number of asylum seeking, refugee and migrant children, and this is a problem when trying to provide services. These children are often vulnerable and can feel isolated." The research is supported by the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
