NCB Now: NCB Northern Ireland

1 min read
In Spring 2006, NCB opened an office in Belfast (NCB NI) to support its work programme in Northern Ireland. The overall objective of NCB NI is to enhance outcomes for children and young people by supporting them and those who work with or for them.

Today, the busy Belfast office employs six staff and works alongside two NCB Associates.

Dr Ruth Sinclair, director of NCB NI, said: "NCB NI is a department of NCB, drawing on the expertise and resources of NCB, while focusing on the needs of children and young people in Northern Ireland. The NCB NI ethos is to continually work in partnership with others and include the views of children and young people."

For example, NCB NI has recently been working with young people to create a young people's version of the Northern Ireland children's strategy. Other current projects include identifying young people's attitudes to people from other ethnic groups, and examining the need and use of secure care for young people.
