Data from the National Drug Treatment Monitoring System suggests that alcohol was the main problem for 35 per cent of under-18s receiving treatment in 2006/07.
The Department for Children, Schools and Families has committed to reviewing all local area treatment plans with a view to providing guidance to commissioners and providers of treatment services later this year.
To help inform this work, Alcohol Concern, with support from NCB, is inviting local providers and practitioners to give their views on the capacity of local services to meet the needs of young people with alcohol problems.
