Children in Wales is currently working in partnership with Mencap Cymru to deliver Together for Rights training sessions to pupils at special schools. The training has been developed by the Together 4 Rights Group at Children in Wales with the aim of raising awareness of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The funding for this project is from European Structural Funds (ESF) through the Welsh Assembly Government's Reaching the Heights programme. Together for Rights sessions are being targeted at disabled people aged 11 to 16. It forms part of a three-year programme, which also aims to support young disabled people to access their rights and have a say in decisions that affect them.
