National Youth Agency: Youth-led media summit all set to challenge stereotypes

1 min read
Young people who work in the media are to meet for the first time to discuss how they can shape the industry's future, at an event supported by the National Youth Agency as part of its build up to the Shine festival, the national celebration of young people's talents and achievement.

On 15 December more than 120 young people, representing up to 70 different media organisations, will be uniting at the Youth-Led Media Summit to give support for a campaign to reduce the negative image of young people in the media.

Event attendees aged 16 to 25 will represent media from print through to animation, in organisations where more than 50 per cent of these young people inform the decision making process. Participants include The Journal, Insight Magazine and Radio Waves.

The Youth-Led Media Summit has been organised by the Institute for Global Ethics UK Trust and will be held at the Rich Mix in Shoreditch.
