The National Youth Agency: Time is right for young to shine

1 min read
Shine is a national festival celebrating all the talents in all young people, which this year takes place between 6 and 10 July.

Embracing the energy and enthusiasm of young people and youth workers, Shine Week hopes to create a real buzz across the country and in the media, and be a really exciting way to celebrate the talent that young people have. Shine Week is about celebrating all talent, be that in the performing arts or in technology, science or working in the community.

Last year over 2,500 schools and organisations participated in Shine, with around a million young people getting involved. The week received widespread positive media coverage, and organisers are hopeful that this year's events will build on last year's success.

You can sign up to Shine Week and receive an Event Pack, which includes a range of posters, stickers and certificates to use during the week, and a Media Pack to help you gain publicity and show how your group shines. Visit www.shineweek.co.uk. Or see The NYA website at www.nya.org.uk for details of launch events.
