In particular, the research will focus on accommodation and education, training and employment, as these factors have been identified as being vital to the successful resettlement and rehabilitation of young offenders. Local authorities, supported by other public and third-sector organisations, already play an important role in these areas.
Through this research, the agency aims to highlight individual case studies of service users, as well as effective resettlement practice in dealing with accommodation and employment issues to deliver positive outcomes for young ex-offenders.
The agency would be grateful to hear from any projects with examples of effective practice in these areas that would like to put them forward for consideration for inclusion. Please contact Peta Halls at the National Youth Agency on petah@nya.org.uk.
