The programme is designed to enable youth organisations to complete a short research project, funded and supported by the YRN. There are two strands of research grants available this year, and up to eight awards will be made.
The network will be awarding three grants of up to £3,000 for local authorities to undertake youth-led research projects between now and the end of March 2011. A second strand of the programme is open to any organisation working with young people and offers five grants of up to £1,000.
The research topic can be of any interest, but the involvement of young people in choosing the focus is essential. Over the past two years, young researchers from the network have completed research in a range of areas including volunteering, disability, alcohol use, looked-after young people and restorative justice.
