National Youth Agency: New round of consultation on qualification strategy

1 min read
National Youth Agency consultant Sunita Grigg provides an update on progress towards the development of a new youth work sector draft qualification strategy and vocational qualifications.

A proposed outline of youth support work competency-based qualifications that could be adopted for England was produced this spring, following mapping work with leading awarding organisations, and put out for consultation with the youth work sector.

The response to this consultation exercise has been excellent. Contributions from all those with a vested interest in the strategy and vocational qualifications for youth work have been welcomed and much appreciated by the National Youth Agency as well as the awarding organisations.

Analysis and summary of this feedback has been used by the agency and the awarding organisations' experts' group to consider further adaptations, changes and refinements to the proposed strategy and the associated qualifications to ensure that they meet the needs of the sector.
