National Youth Agency: Meet the ambassadors - Learn2Earn

"We have two parts to the project - a pre-16 (Years 10 and 11) and a post-16 group (Years 12 and 13). We work in partnership with two schools to deliver Asdan Cope and Personal Development Awards.

This is part of the young people's timetable, but we also work with the young people at evenings and weekends. Some of the pieces of work have included graffiti art, making music, exchanges with Italy and Ireland, and a visit to Barcelona. We have also delivered cookery, magic, dance, glass art and drama. It is a good example of education with a youth work ethos.

"Our project does great youth work because we work within a youth work framework to engage the young people and try to make education and learning fun. The key is the relationship that is developed with young people to enable them to engage in learning and to be offered opportunities that they may not be getting in school or at home."
