They are playing a leading role in Stories of the World, one of the major projects of London's 2012 Cultural Olympiad, for which the National Youth Agency is delivering a programme of supported activity and consultancy across museum partnerships to help frame and explore good participation practice.
The agency is also planning to run a national seminar in April about how to achieve sustainable forums and other structures, such as the one in Bradford, for this area of museums' work. "We would like to hear from young people's groups involved in shaping what museums offer," said national programme manager Richard McKie. "We will provide resource, back up and administration, but we really do want young people involved to be able to speak to the professionals about the dos and don'ts."
