The new Grapevine Game
SEXplanation! is a board game for those aged 11 and over that opens up frank, informative and honest discussion around sex and relationships. It's a 21st-century update of the bestselling resource the Grapevine Game, first published by the National Youth Agency in the early 1990s. Using a combination of "fact" and "opinion" cards the game encourages the awkward and difficult questions in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
Writing in a foreword to the resource Fiona Blacke, chief executive of the National Youth Agency, says: "Wherever we go and whenever we talk about the Grapevine Game people often smile fondly and recount examples of how the game enabled long and frank discussions that deeply engaged young people in these important areas of personal health and relationship issues. This is the main strength of this tool: giving young people, and the trusted staff they choose to be with, the opportunity and the framework to talk openly and honestly about relationships, sex and sexuality.
