We discuss young people's disengagement from formal politics. While he says he would be willing to drag them to the polling booth "in chains", I argue that we need to change the system so that young people (and everyone else for that matter) want to cast their vote. A good first step would be electoral reform so that more people's votes count. For the first time in my lifetime, this is now a possibility.

Tim Loughton, the shadow children's minister, Labour MP Frank Field and Dame Kelly Holmes each share some interesting perspectives. Tim is strongly challenged by Nick Wilkie from London Youth to ensure the Conservative plans make full use of the diverse range of practice that already exists within the youth sector. Nick makes an interesting if unexpected analogy with London's sewer network.
