My Week - The circus of politics and youth work

1 min read
FRIDAY - Our consortium, led by the School for Social Entrepreneurs, has been awarded a share of the Communities and Local Government Empowerment Fund. The youth sector has generally done well, with the Young Foundation and YWCA also receiving funding.

MONDAY - I share in the widespread horror at the story of the boys accused of attempting to murder two of their peers in Doncaster. But I'm troubled at the negative media portrayal of young people in care that has resulted.

TUESDAY - To Newcastle for our annual North East celebration event. The only injuries are to wounded pride at failed attempts to juggle or leap acrobatically. Gracefully, I refrain from active participation, despite the exhortations of my colleagues.
