My Life: Olasade, 14, south London

1 min read
I've been doing Southwark's Summer University. Last week I did a childcare course. We watched behaviour of children from 0 to 36 months and then we played some games that you could play with young children in a nursery - things like fishing rods and making puzzles. I've learned that when children want to play and they can't do it you have to try over and over until you succeed.

They learn about shapes and reading and play can broaden their minds by looking at what's happening around them. I'd like to do the same course next year. I'd like to work with young children and watch them play and see them grow - that's the best thing.

This week I'm doing a Photoshop course. I've just found out how to get rid of spots on models. I didn't realise you could do this. Now I realise that not everyone is beautiful - you should see them in real life.

Summer University is good. I enjoy seeing friends and getting to know people. If I wasn't here I'd be doing nothing and stuck at home. It's a good idea to get people out of the house and off the streets. The tutors are fun and when you get to know them you don't want to leave.
