My life: Melissa, 15, south London

1 min read
I did tennis for a week as part of Southwark council's summer university.

It was really fun, I'd not done tennis since Year 6. I was really bored this summer so I signed up to do it.

I've met new people and the instructor was really nice, encouraging, not critical and helped me do my best.

I also enjoyed having matches. We got to work as a team and we learned how to co-ordinate ourselves on court. We just kept on practising and the instructor really encouraged me to do tennis and to keep it up.

I got to see the sunshine and we had a mini tournament at the end of the week to test our skills. I met other people from other schools that I didn't know before. E-mail is good for keeping in touch.
