My Life: Nyasha McLean, 11, London

1 min read
My father left for Jamaica about six months ago. I don't come from a broken home; my mother and father are still happily married. My dad has gone to Jamaica to work.

He's working because my family are planning on moving to Jamaica permanently, so he has to make a few arrangements and adjustments like organising schools for my sister and me.

When my dad left for Jamaica I felt upset and worried. The first couple of days I cried a lot because it felt weird him not being there.

That was six months ago and things have changed a lot since then. I have gotten closer to my mum and now I know that it won't be long until he is back here with us.

Since my dad's been gone my mum has let me stay up and watch Wrestlemania XXI, and she has had more deep conversations with me. We have become dependent on each other.
