My life: Mandy, 15, Gravesend

1 min read
My earliest memory that I can recall was at Christmas with all the family together and opening presents. This was when I was five years old. From five years old up until I was 10 I was in care. I saw my family fragment, I started to see arguments and fights and I also started to lose touch with my mum and brother.

The day I got picked up from school and taken into care, I didn't knowwhere I was going. I was scared and confused because I had left myfamily and I could not understand why.

When I first arrived at my foster placement I was scared because Ididn't know who they were and I misbehaved. I thought I was going hometo my family after two or three placements broke down. I went tocounselling and it really helped me to understand why I was put in careand for me to know that it wasn't my fault.

My interests are ice-skating and swimming. I am very good at arts andcrafts and am proud to be writing my article.
