My life: Jodie, 10, Birmingham

I live with my mum, my two sisters and my brother. I like going swimming and going up the park and I like playing games with them, although my little sister's not old enough. My mum takes drugs but I don't know what they are and she drinks a lot. I help her by watching my little sister. I get my brother dressed and do lots. I help cook, wash up and stuff like that.

When my mum drinks I feel confused, stressed and depressed. Sometimes Igo to sessions after school where we can talk about our feelings and ifyou have a problem, they try and sort it out. Then we play games. Itreally helps me and stuff. I don't like to share my feelings sometimesbut if you bottle them up inside you start going mad and take it out onother people.

I've made lots of friends at the group. I'm friends with every one ofthem. I don't understand why my mum drinks and takes drugs. When shedoesn't she's really nice and she takes us out places. When she'sdrinking it's "get to your room, get to your room".
