
At first, I hated it with all my heart because it had taken me away from some of the best friends I knew and had grown up with.
I started coming to the youth club organised by Airplay because my dad helped out there and encouraged me to come.
I was glad he did because I ended up meeting one of my new best friends Tammy, who attended the tri-service youth forum residential with me. We have gone on all sorts of trips with the youth club, but the youth forum was my first residential.
I benefited from the residential because I got to make new friends and hear their stories about other RAF camps. I also got to share my experiences of what life is like on an RAF base.
