
I found it hard to mix with people my age and often struggled to even leave the house.
Then I found out about Youth Focus: North East through YoungMinds, a charity which helps improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people.
I volunteered with them and it was there that I met Claire, a youth worker who persuaded me to get involved with the projects Youth Focus: North East run with young people across the North East region.
At first, we met once a month and then we started developing a new mental health project for young people - soon we were raising awareness through campaigning and sitting on groups with my local NHS trust.
