My Life: Huzaifa Abhi, 21, London

I am a business administrator at the London Fire Brigade after starting as an apprentice. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work doing something I enjoy, although I am aware many young people are deprived of this advantage.

I volunteer on the youth board of the Mayor's Fund for London - an independent charity based at City Hall, which aims to improve the lives of young Londoners.

The youth board is comprised of young people from various walks of life and harnesses initiatives by young people for the benefit of young people.

At the start of 2014, the board set clear goals focused on education and employment. I have fully participated, working as part of a team to identify causes of youth unemployment and ways to tackle it.

My involvement with the charity has developed my attitude towards professional working.

Helping young people to find themselves in society has inspired me to launch Young Power UK - an enterprise that engages young people in using and developing sustainable energy.
