My Life: Fiona Merry, 21, Brighton

1 min read
I first got the idea to take part in reality TV show Shipwrecked when I was walking my dog in the pouring rain. I had just watched the previous series and I thought, I would much rather be on a lovely hot desert island than here in the rain.

When I found out I'd got in, I felt a bit numb to be honest. I was soshocked. I thought okay, I'm going away for five months, and I won't seemy friends and family. I thought I needed to get my stuff in order.Looking back I wish I'd spent less time tying up loose ends and moretime learning things like how to start a fire and how to build ashelter.

I don't think things are that different now I am back because I seem tohave just slipped back into normal life. I thought it would be moredifficult, coming back after having completely different experience.
