My Life: Elysha Metcalf, 10, Mitcham, Surrey

1 min read
Some of my favourite hobbies are swimming, ballet and tap dancing. I have also started to learn to play the flute. My friend Clare and I walk to school together. Our new study centre is really cool. It is quite magical, although it is really a library. At the centre of the room is a tree, which is all lit up with little fairy lights.

I love to listen to stories on tape. I find it hard to read stories on my own because I am dyslexic, which means that when I try to read books the letters and words all jump about and it's very hard then to work out what the story is about.

I find copying from the board difficult too because I find it hard to keep the words still, and when I look down to write I can't find my place again. When my teacher writes on the board in a different colour for every line I find it much easier to find my place again. I find writing very difficult, besides my pen sliding all over the place thinking it's ice-skating.
