We got together in a personal, social and health education lesson, brainstormed our ideas and came up with the idea of writing a song aboutgrowing up and some of the issues you have to deal with. We wanted tobreak some of the perceptions people have.
We've written the song - Life of a Teen - and contacted a localstudio.
We're going to record it and sell copies. We have decided to give themoney to the Sickle Cell Society. We chose it because it's quite acommon problem in our community, but a lot of people don't know about itand it's a way to raise awareness. We're also trying to organise aperformance in a local shopping centre. It's quite up-tempo so it'ssomething people can move to and it has an R&B feel.
