Multiculturalism: London Youth to promote the desire for multiracial harmony

1 min read

About 20 young people aged between 16 and 26 are currently being recruited from the north, south, east and west of London, because of reports that the bombers had intended to create a "burning cross" throughout the capital, with targets at the four points of the compass. The aim of the Interculture project is to unite multiracial communities and raise the profile of young people's desire for cultural integration by bringing young people together for youth-led events.

Young people representing all religious faiths will attend a residential this month at London Youth's Woodrow High House in Buckinghamshire. They will receive training and help design the project with the help of two facilitators, around themes including health, sport, food and the arts. They will then take the ideas for projects back to the four host youth clubs and run them during the first week of April.
