MSP swaps roles with young people

Youth Work
A group of young people from youth charity Fairbridge took part in a "job swap" with a Member of the Scottish Parliament last month.

The initiative involved MSP Hugh O'Donnell participating in indoor rock climbing at Fairbridge's Glasgow centre before 11 young people aged 14 to 16 went to the Scottish Parliament to observe a debate.

The young people also had an opportunity to question O'Donnell on a range of issues including driving lessons, support when looking for employment, and helping homeless young people.

O'Donnell said: "I have been impressed at the achievements and attitudes of these young people. Through Fairbridge, they have had the opportunity to take on new challenges and receive much-needed support."
