MONEY: Government wants pensions for young

It will target late-teens through a variety of media, including the internet.

Motivation for the campaign came from the Government's green paper on pensions. The Simplicity, Security and Choice, Working and Saving for Retirement green paper, published in December 2002, claimed an estimated three million people were saving inadequately.

Part of the campaign combats the misconception many people have that they will easily be able to retire at the age of 50. Support material will also be produced for the campaign.

The Home Office stated: "We wanted to get the message to young people that this is something to think about early."
