Milton Keynes Pre-School Learning Alliance

1 min read Early Years
What is it? A joint venture between Milton Keynes Pre-school Learning Alliance and the Park Trust Rangers, Pushchairs in the Park is a monthly opportunity for parents and their toddlers to embrace the outdoors on a specially marked out nature trail.

What happens? In a different park each month, families turn up and begin to follow the footprints that have been already set out for them. Along the way they are encouraged to observe wildlife, pick up sticks and listen to the sounds around them. There are also some special features such as the tree-hugger - a piece of canvas stretched around a tree with pockets full of interesting items like magnifying glasses, chalks, buckets and slates. Activities vary depending on the weather and the venue, but also include pond-dipping with little fishing nets, splashing around in muddy puddles, playing with pulleys and making shakers to play music with.
