What does it do?
The Pre-school Learning Alliance is a registered educational charity and the largest voluntary sector provider of affordable childcare in England. It offers professional support to more than 15,000 early years settings and impacts on the care and education of about 800,000 young children through its training, quality improvement and family learning programmes. It also produces publications and advice as well as campaigns to influence childcare policy.
Where is it based?
It has a national centre in London, four divisional offices and nurseries all across England. There are also 100 local offices across the country.
What roles are available?
The alliance relies on a range of skilled professionals and practitioners to help it deliver its work. These include children's centre managers, senior nursery workers, tutors, pre-school development workers, outreach workers and team leaders to name but a few. It also has roles in areas such as communications, human resources, administrative, finance and IT. Some jobs do not require formal qualifications and job shares are always considered.
