Me & My Youth Worker: 'I've learned I can achieve things too'

Earl King-Brown, 16, and Adam Whitehead, mentor for Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust and former British Olympic swimmer

How long have you been working together?

Adam "We met about 12 weeks ago. I'm a mentor on the Get on Track programme run by the legacy trust. The programme helps young people who are struggling in education or who find themselves in trouble. They get the opportunity to work alongside former professional sports people like myself who try to help give them some direction in life."

Earl "I ended up in trouble for robbery and burglary and was referred to the youth offending team. They told me about the Dame Kelly programme and I liked the sound of working with former athletes."
