What does it do?
Make-A-Wish Foundation is a charity that grants wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, leukaemia, and congenital heart problems. Since the charity began work in 1986, it has granted more than 4,900 wishes. Requests have included meeting a celebrity or sports hero, seeing a London show and going backstage, attending a Doctor Who convention, watching a day's play at Wimbledon, and having a pink playhouse in the garden.
Where is it based?
Make-A-Wish's head office is based in Camberley, Surrey, and it has seven offices across the UK.
What roles are available?
There are finance, fundraising and communications roles, and seven regional manager posts. Volunteers can be involved in areas from wishgranting to event management, office administation and IT.
