I'd been playing rugby at Cleve Rugby Club (Bristol) for a while when I heard about a local centre for teenagers with learning disabilities linked to the club, called Props, which was looking for volunteers.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but decided to go along and see how I could help, and I'm really glad I did. I now volunteer at Props' after-school club and help the kids to make banners and T-shirts to be sold to raise money for the centre.

Although volunteering is sometimes challenging, it is great fun. I've also been working towards my Asdan Community Volunteering Qualification at the centre, which gives me a qualification to recognise the volunteering work I'm involved in. I eventually want to be a PE teacher, so volunteering is a great opportunity to develop skills that will help me achieve this goal.
