I was invited to take part in the Big Conversation event through the Career Academy programme at Cirencester College. I was told that 100 business people and 100 young people would come together to discuss the issues of work experience and how it could all be improved.

I wasn't sure what to expect, so went with optimism and an open mind. Meeting business people was something I highly valued as their expertise and guidance is priceless. I came up with two slogans that applied to work experience: "Be quick to give constructive criticism, be even quicker to give praise" and "Make it fun, make it positive, make it happen for me".

One chief executive, who I was lucky enough to sit next to, was in the field of work I aspire to enter - commercial law. He answered all of my questions and gave me brilliant advice.

The Big Conversation was something I am extremely proud to have been a part of. I believe it is something people will look back on in the future to remember its importance.
