Waterbeach Action for Youth (WAY) was forced to close its youth clubafter being burgled for the second time this year. Around 4,000of equipment was taken in the burglaries.
However, the club was only closed for one night after residents andlocal businesses rallied together to raise funds for the club. Twocomputers were donated and 500 was raised to restock food anddrink.
The club was also offered the opportunity of having a new burglar alarmsystem fitted. Suzy Kay, administration clerk at the WAY Project, saidthe club had been "overwhelmed with local support".
