It was good to see Ravi Chandiramani's challenge to schools to rise to the broader agenda of the welfare of children (CYP Now, 28 May-3 June). We have a responsibility for their wellbeing and happiness.
By 2020, every school should also be a sustainable school. This is more than a commitment to becoming financially viable. It is a whole school engagement with one of the major concerns of our times - climate change. Children are really worried about it.
In schools where the children are doing something practical towards reducing the impact of global warming, they are happier and can get on with their learning.
