We are concerned that 70 per cent of primary teachers in our survey feelleague tables impact negatively on their wellbeing.
Setting aside the debate on the usefulness of league tables, teacherswho call the Teacher Support Line say pressure to meet targets, coupledwith publicising school performance, is causing widespread stress andpotentially stifling their creativity. We would urge schools to be awareof such pressures and work with organisations such as ours to considerways of keeping the impact to a minimum.
