A proposal was made to our grants committee in July about repatriatingfunds to councils to fund local voluntary groups. This was debated butrejected on 5 September.
London Councils is nearing the end of an exhaustive review of the way itdistributes funds to voluntary groups.
These reviews are necessary because London's communities are constantlychanging. As our grants are made up of taxpayers' money, it is our dutyto spend this responsibly and ensure that we fund the evolving needs ofour communities.
All groups are advised when their grant is awarded that it is for afixed four-year period. London Councils is currently planning thetransition from the previous funding regime to its new priorities.
