It is vital for the Home Office to deal with errors speedily for thesake of employers and potential employees.
Without a speedier process good potential employees will be lost toresponsible employers.
For employers, like NCH, where safeguarding vulnerable children is acritical factor, we have no choice but to follow official informationprovided by the disclosure agencies.
Checks that reveal a candidate has not disclosed convictions on theirapplication form are rare. However, where this does occur - even as aresult of an error - it inevitably casts doubt upon the integrity, andthus the employability, of the applicant.
Janice Cook, executive director, human resources, NCH.
