This is an example of more public money being wasted. Who gives theLondon Development Agency money for their ill-thought-through schemes? The reason no one is applying is that the agency is seeking to subsidiseextortionate daycare.
The problem won't be solved by encouraging childcare that costs 175 per week or more, it will be solved by developing childcare that isboth affordable and sustainable. A start could be made on this by takingthe money and giving it to children's centres.
As a children's centre we are facing under-funding for revenuecosts.
It is galling seeing public money spent on ill-advised schemes.
