With funding from the Terrence Higgins Trust, our group from YWCA Bristol called Did U Know? teaches students about relationships, staying safe and dealing with peer pressure when it comes to sex.
We don't preach. We have more interactive ways of getting the message across. We had a box of contraceptives and they had to put condoms on models. We also showed them pictures of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
I definitely think there should be compulsory SRE in schools because STIs are going to carry on increasing unless young people get the information they need. It's also important that students hear it from people close to their age.
